The process of going solar is typically quite straightforward. The hardest part is finding a reputable and reliable solar installer that suits your needs and fits your budget. Our Enlite Home review below should help make that decision a little easier and help you decide if Enlite is the best solar company for your solar project.
Enlite Home is a good solar company that sets itself apart by focusing on sales. The company doesn’t do any of its own installations — it instead enlists customers and outsources the work to third-party companies. While this might sound like a negative and can sometimes lead to spotty customer service, the company is also often able to get you lower prices for solar equipment and installations than actual installers.
Enlite Home was founded in 2016 in Rancho Cordova, California, by Sanjeev Thakur, who previously worked as a chief development officer for InterAmerican Energy Group and as a sales manager for Vivint Solar. He took his experience in the solar industry and created Enlite, a company that focuses on sales and manages installations rather than completing the solar installations itself.
Enlite outsources all of its installations to third-party installers like Sunrun and SunPower. This allows Enlite Home to provide a wide range of services, products, and financing options. In many cases, you can get your system installed by professional installation companies with decades of experience while enjoying the customer service provided by Enlite Home.

As mentioned above, Enlite Home doesn’t deal with the actual installation process for your home and instead outsources the work to third-party solar partners. That being said, the installation process with Enlite Home, which we’ll explain below, is relatively similar to what you’d experience with most other installers.
Below is the process you can expect from start to finish when going solar with Enlite Home.
The first step in the process will be to contact Enlite Home to let the company know you’re interested in getting a free solar quote. You can fill out the contact request form on the company’s website — enlitehome.com. This form just requires some basic information, including your contact information, address and any specific information you want to provide about the system you need.
After you fill out the contact form, a sales rep from Enlite Home will contact you to confirm the details provided and get additional information. You should have a copy of your most recent electric bill on hand, and you might also need to share information about your appliances, your heating and cooling equipment and more.
In most cases, a representative from Enlite Home will need to schedule an in-person inspection to verify everything and take roof measurements.
Next, the Enlite Home design team will begin designing a custom system for your home. This includes the arrangement of your rooftop solar panels and the location of your solar batteries, if applicable.
Next, Enlite Home will figure out a suitable solar installer for your project based on the information you provide and the design they create for your solar panel system. This step is generally not something you’ll see from other solar installers, as most companies complete the work themselves. The plans will be sent to the installer, and Enlite Home will coordinate the installation for you.
Your chosen solar company should also start pulling applicable building permits for your solar project. Once permits are pulled, and you’ve figured out your desired financing option, the project manager can schedule the installation date. The installation process typically takes one to two days.
The next step is the actual installation process. This typically takes between one and two days, although unexpected issues or the weather could delay the process a bit.
Finally, Enlite Home will have the installer commission your system, which is the process of activating the panels and setting you up with interconnection to enjoy net metering, if available. At this point, your panels should begin producing energy and saving you money on your electric bills.
One of the reasons Enlite Home receives such high ratings from our team and its customers is the customer service it provides. By outsourcing the installation work to professional installers with countless jobs behind them, Enlite Home can focus on providing you with exceptional customer care and communication. The large majority of Enlite Home solar customers are very pleased with the customer service they get.
The cost of your solar system will vary based on many factors, including the system size you need, the direction your roof faces, how much sun your property gets and more. Another major factor that influences the price of solar panels is the installer you choose. Going with Enlite Home typically means the price you’ll pay is about average, but it can vary depending on the installer the company assigns to your project.
The price for your solar power system can also vary by installer because of the equipment provided. For example, your price will naturally be higher than average if Enlite Home chooses SunPower for your system. SunPower panels are some of the most efficient in the industry, but they come at a high cost.
One benefit of opting for Enlite Home is that it can choose providers for your project that offer a wide range of financing options. Through installers like SunPower and SunRun, besides cash purchases you can get access to no-money-down solar loans, solar leases and even power purchase agreements (PPAs). We don’t typically recommend leases or PPAs, but having the options available is a nice benefit.
The table below provides a quick side-by-side comparison of the different solar financing options offered by Enlite Home.

Solar warranties usually either cover equipment or labor, and some packaged warranties cover both. Enlite Home provides warranties through their third-party installers, so the warranty you get can vary. Most providers have an equipment warranty for solar panels, inverters and/or batteries. The warranties cover power production and physical damage and range between 10 and 25 years.
Some customers worry that the labor and workmanship won’t be covered with Enlite Home because it outsources the work to other companies. However, most of the installers provide warranties that are passed on to you. These typically range anywhere from 10 to 25 years, depending on the installer. SunPower panels come with one of the best warranties that covers physical damage, energy production and the labor for 25 years.
The solar industry can be a little intimidating for many homeowners because there are many companies out there that have poor customer service and don’t have your best interests at heart. That’s why it’s often a good idea to turn to online customer reviews to get an idea of how a company will serve you. Below, we’ll include some positive and negative Enlite Home reviews to give you a snapshot of what to expect.
The large majority of reviews for Enlite Home are overwhelmingly positive. Most customers are pleased with the service they get and rave about the consistent communication and customer care they receive from the company. Below are some of the positive reviews we found:
“From start to finish, the process could not have been better. Carson, the salesperson who introduced me to the company and the process, was thorough, polite, helpful and absolutely professional… The installation team arrived on time and did [its] work exactly as promised. I have already recommended Enlite to a number of my friends.” — Tom via Google Reviews
“The Enlite team that assisted my family with solar was very professional and friendly. They listened to our particular needs and delivered on all that was agreed upon in a timely and efficient manner.” — Becky via BBB
Of course, there are bound to be some negative reviews for just about any company, and Enlite Home is no exception. Most of the negative reviews for this company are about the sometimes aggressive sales tactics (door-to-door sales and phone calls) used by the company’s energy consultants, and not the customer service. Below are some of the negative reviews found online for Enlight Home:
“These salespeople have come to our door twice. Last night I was home to witness how inappropriate their tactics are. My husband once again told the young man to get off our property and he not only refused but stood in my husband’s face. I was appalled at how inappropriate and deceptive this company is. I encourage anyone to report them to the BBB that encounters this same experience.” — Debby via BBB
“Rude, aggressive, unprofessional salespeople. I’m always courteous to door-to-door salespersons as I used to do door-to-door stuff. After listening to the initial pitch I told them that’s interesting but I was in the middle of something so please just email the info or leave a brochure or something. The guy then proceeded to argue with me about whether I actually had time, and even called me a liar. Every time I politely tried to excuse myself he wouldn’t accept that.” — Darkl1ght3r via Google Reviews

Enlite Home is a legitimate solar company. Despite getting started as recently as 2016, the company provides outstanding customer service and a huge range of products and services. It’s able to provide these things in part because it outsources the actual installation process to third-party solar partners so that it can focus on providing you with the highest-quality customer service possible. Most customers are very pleased with the service they get from Enlite Home.
Enlite Home’s prices can vary quite a bit, depending on the third-party provider assigned to your solar installation. Generally speaking, prices are around average. However, most customers agree that the company provides immense value in the form of outstanding customer service for the price. Overall, Enlite Home is usually considered a good deal.
In most cases, yes, going solar with Enlite Home will lower your electricity bill substantially, and it might even allow you to eliminate it altogether if your utility company (for example, PG&E) has a good net metering policy. Enlite Home only works with installers that provide high-efficiency solar panels, which produce substantial energy that can lower the amount of electricity you need to pull from the grid and pay for daily.
Enlite Home’s services are usually around the average for solar based on the specific area. However, the price can vary quite a bit, as the company outsources installations to other solar companies. The prices you’ll be quoted can be well above or below average, depending on the installer assigned to your project.
Enlite Home is currently only available in California. It’s headquartered at 11357 Pyrites Way A2, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670, and it serves the rest of Sacramento County and the entire state from that office via third-party solar providers.
